At Pacific Kayak Fishing, our goal is simple: to give you an unforgettable fishing experience while showcasing the incredible waters of Costa Rica from a completely different perspective.
My name is Ryan, and I founded Pacific Kayak Fishing because I believe there’s no better way to connect with the ocean than from a kayak. Quiet, stealthy, and incredibly effective, kayaks allow us to get closer to the fish while experiencing every strike, every run, and every moment in a way that simply isn’t possible from a larger boat.

Whether you’re an experienced angler chasing your dream roosterfish or someone who’s never held a fishing rod before, I’ll make sure you feel comfortable, confident, and have an amazing day on the water. Every trip is personalized to your skill level and fishing goals.
We fish aboard premium Hobie pedal kayaks equipped with Garmin fish finders and GPS units, giving us the ability to cover water efficiently while keeping your hands free to fish. Using light tackle, live bait, jigs, and topwater lures, we target some of Costa Rica’s most exciting inshore species, including roosterfish, snapper, grouper, spanish mackerel, corvina, jack crevalle, trevallys, and more.
Safety & Conservation First
Safety is always my top priority. Before every trip, I’ll walk you through the equipment, fishing techniques, and everything you need to know so you can relax and enjoy the adventure. Most of our fishing is catch and release, helping preserve these incredible fisheries for future generations, though you’re welcome to keep legal table fish when conditions allow.
What means the most to me isn’t just the fish we catch—it’s seeing someone land their first roosterfish, watching families create lifelong memories together, or helping experienced anglers check another bucket-list species off their list. Those moments are why I do this.
